Ludhiana, June 12

The police have failed to arrest Nitish Ghai, owner of an immigration firm, who has cheated a large number of people in immigration frauds.

Three weeks ago, the city police had launched a crackdown on illegal immigration firms and travel agents operating in the city. During investigation, the police registered 26 FIRs against Ghai. Special teams were recently formed by the police to trace the accused.

Surendra Lamba, ADCP, who is investigating the immigration fraud cases, said 26 FIRs had been registered against the illegal immigration firm owner, Nitish Ghai, and investigation was still on into the complaints pending with the police. “We have been conducting raids at the suspected hideouts of the accused agent. Unfortunately, he is still out of the police net. Our teams are on the job and soon he will be behind bars,” said Lamba.

He said a list of Nitish’s properties, which he amassed with money he made by cheating innocent people aspiring to go abroad, has been prepared and soon, the process to attach these will start.

On May 25, the police raided nine travel and immigration firms and registered FIRs against four firms, namely Blessing Consultancy (Nitish), A to Z Tour and Travels, GGI Group All Types Visa Consultancy and 99 Visa & Bright Solution Consultancy (Nitish).
