Office-bearers of the Punjab Tax Bar Association met Commissioner (GST) Upender Gupta and Joint Commissioner Ravneet Singh Khurana at North Block, New Delhi. The Punjab BJP vice-president, Anil Sarin, along with association president Bal Krishan Gupta and secretary general BR Kaushal were part of the delegation.
The meeting lasted for more than two hours. Association members brought to the notice of the Commissioner (GST) various hardships still being faced by tax professionals, trade and industry in spite of number of positive steps taken by the Central government.
The important issues, which were discussed in detail, include Form GSTR 4, purchase details, inconsistencies in the GST portal, reopening of Form TRAN 1 and providing opportunity for amendment/rectification of the same, GST refund, delay in refund of inverted tax rate structure, export to Nepal and Bhutan among other problems.
The Commissioner (GST) assured members of the Bar association to take concrete and necessary steps on issues raised in the meeting at the earliest. Other members of the association, who were part of the delegation include, Ashok Juneja, KK Singla, Rupinder Kansal, Arun Kanwal and Chander Sehgal.
