The 71st Independence Day was celebrated with fervour and zeal at the Cordia Group of Institutes. Urmil Verma, executive trustee, Cordia Group of Institutes, was the chief guest on the occasion. She remembered the great freedom fighters of the country and unfurled the National Flag. Students of Uma Rana Public School presented a march past and cultural programme on the occasion.

AS College for Women

Khanna: Independence Day was celebrated with great zeal and zest on the premises of the AS College for Women, Khanna. The programme was organised in collaboration with the NSS, NCC and CA Unit of the college. The Tricolour was unfurled by the President of the trust Rajiv Rai Mehta. A cultural programme was presented by college students. National Anthem was recited by one and all present there.

Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College

Ludhiana: Independence Day was celebrated at Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana, with full zeal and fervour. Director MS Saini hoisted the Tricolor. Saini re-emphasised the audience about the importance of the day. He said 15 August, 1947, was the day that marked India’s freedom from the stranglehold of the British Raj.

Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology

The NSS Unit and Student's Chapter of the Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GNIMT), Gujarkhan Campus, observed a Clean and Green Ludhiana as part of ongoing celebrations of Independence Day. Freshers in GNIMT were given saplings of decorative plants and they pledged to look after and nurture the plants.

Synetic Business School

Sahnewal: Synetic Business School (SBS), Ludhiana, celebrated Independence Day. The theme of the event was 75th Bharat Chodo Aandolan. SBS chairman MA Zahir threw light on the importance of Independence Day and told how the freedom fighters struggled for independence.

GHG Harparkash College of Education for Women

The GHG Harparkash College of Education for Women celebrated I-Day with full patriotic fervor. College Principal Baljeet Kaur Gill paid tributes to freedom fighters and said teachers being the nation builders should inculcate moral values and patriotism among students.
