CMCH shows movie on depression

LUDHIANA: In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Christian Medical College and Hospital premiered movie ‘Blue Jeans Blues’ here today.

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Christian Medical College and Hospital premiered movie ‘Blue Jeans Blues’ here today.

The movie is based on fighting depression. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Abraham G Thomas, Director, CMCH, congratulated movie director Nitin Mahajan and movie actor Raj Thakur, who hails from Ludhiana. He further encouraged movies with positive message to the society. Around 150 CMC students, faculty members and doctors came to watch the movie.

Mamta Singla, HOD of the Psychiatry Department at the CMCH, said there was always a way out of depression and anyone going through this phase must talk to close friends, parents, relatives and teachers and should not try to fight problems alone. “Moreover, as the movie suggests, involving in physical activities and recreational activities helped,” he said. The makers of the movie were also present during the show and where overwhelmed by the response.
