Ludhiana, April 26

A cooking competition was organised at Lakshmi Ladies Club today. Members of the club cooked lip-smacking dishes while some also prepared smoothies and shakes for the summer season. Neeta Mehta, Gautam Chaudhry, Happy Singh, Jatin Khurana and Neelu, all chefs, were the judges for the occasion.

Out of the 80 members, who participated in the competition, 50 were selected today for the semi-final and final competitions, which will be announced soon.

Speaking on the occasion, chef Neeta Mehta said, “Every woman loves to cook. She can transform this art into her profession.”

She said, “Dishes prepared by members today surpassed each other. It was difficult to choose a few and leave others, but in conception one wins and other has to loose.”

While giving tips to members, Chef Happy Singh said, “Although Punjabis love spicy food, but overdose of spices can ruin the taste of a dish. Every spice has its unique quality and it should be used in appropriate quantity.” — TNS
