Office-bearers of panthic organizations led by Baljit Singh Khalsa today submitted a written complaint to the police in Khamano against the torn banners of Sarbat Khalsa-appointed Jathedar of Akal Takht Jagtar Singh Hawara at village Hawara.

Hawara is in Tihar Jail at Delhi in connection with the killing of the then Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh. He was later appointed jathedar of Akal Takht at the Sarbat Khalsa. Baljit Singh alleged that panthic leaders had come to the house of Hawara to start a campaign against drugs.

He said two days ago, members of panthic bodies had assembled at Hawara's house, led by advocate Amar Singh Chahal and started a campaign to plant saplings. They had also reportedly fixed a photo of Hawara and a banner at his house.

Chahal alleged that today, they received the information that the banner and flax had been torn. Khalsa demanded that the forces behind this should be brought to book and a case be registered.

SHO, Khamano, Sukhvir Singh, when contacted, said he was out on VIP duty. He said he would look into the complaint submitted at the police station.
