A few persons protested outside the DC office against US wrestler B Steel who made comments against Indians during a press conference yesterday.
Members of Jan Shakti Organisation burnt the effigy of the wrestler demanding action against him. Members of the organisation also came to the DC office to submit a memorandum to the DC in this regard.
Moti Bhanot, president of the organization, said the wrestlers were here to play and not for raking up controversies. “Why should they be speaking against India?” he asked. The organisation members demanded an FIR against the US wrestlers for speaking against Indians.
They said sports event should be played with sportsman’s spirit showing respect for other players and their countries. “We demand that the Commissioner of Police arrest the wrestler and take action against him,” Bhanot said.
Meanwhile, members of Shri Hindu Nyaypeeth got a complaint registered against the wrestler at Division No. 5 police station. They said the wrestler's remarks had hurt the feelings of the countrymen.
