The Communist Party of India (CPI) candidates, Randhir Singh Dhira from Ward No.78, Ajit Chaursia from Ward No.95 and Sanjay Kumar from Ward No.94, are in the front race for the three seats of the civic body elections.
Besides, the two candidates, Kulwant Kaur from Ward No.7 and Rajvinder Kaur from Ward No.22, who have the CPI support, but are contesting as Independent, are up front in the election race.
The modus operandi of the campaign has been door-to-door and corner meetings. Women are actively participating in the campaign for all the five seats.
All the CPI candidates are promising to provide clean drinking water, sewerage, government dispensaries and low cost medicine shops in each ward, affordable and quality education for everyone, affordable residential facilities, cheap houses for the economically weaker sections, sports facilities and play grounds in every ward, parks, planned colonies, good roads, proper maintenance of street and traffic lights.
