After a Delhi-based agent duped the HOD of orthopaedic at the Dayanand Medical College of Rs 1.5 crore, yet another city resident has cried foul claiming that a university employee took Rs 17.5 lakh from him on the pretext of arranging a seat in a medical college.
The Salem Tabri police have registered a case under Section 420 of the IPC against Rajiv Kumar, a resident of Purnia Bihar.
The case has been registered on the complaint of Sunil Kumar, a resident of Rishi Harmila Nursing home, Netaji Nagar of the city. He told the police that he was looking for admission of his son in a medical college. In the meantime he met Rajiv who ensured admission for his son at Mata Gujri Memorial Medical College at Purnia in Bihar. Sunil said Rajiv took Rs 17.5 lakh in various installments. He said Rajiv neither managed to arrange his son’s admission in a medical college nor returned the money. Investigating officer said the case was registered last night and the police have initiated investigation in the matter.
