Ludhiana: The Shimlapuri police nabbed two persons and recovered two stolen vehicles from them. The accused have been identified as Mandeep Singh of Guru Gobind Singh Nagar and Harpreet Singh of Fateh Singh Nagar. ASI Mohan Singh said the accused were nabbed after a tip-off that they were roaming near Gill Canal.
21-yr-old girl goes missing
A 21-year-old girl has been reported missing. Complainant Parminder Kaur, a resident of Koom Kalan village, said that on April 13 her daughter Kalashdeep Kaur left home telling her sister that she was going to Beas to pay obeisance. However, she did not return home. Parminder said she suspected that her daughter could have been kept in illegal confinement by some unknown person.
Bootlegger held with liquor
The city police have nabbed a bootlegger and recovered 36 bottles of liquor from him. The accused has been identified as Varinder Singh of Koom Kalan village. Investigating Officer Jaswinder Singh, Anti-Narcotic Cell, said the accused was nabbed on a tip-off.
Three arrested for gambling
The city police have nabbed three persons on the charges of gambling in separate cases. The accused have been identified as Gagan Kumar of Kishor Nagar, Vikramjit of Shaoni Mohalla and Mukesh Kumar of New Kundanpuri. The police also recovered over Rs 4,000 from the accused.
MC employee missing
The missing report of Narinder Kumar (40), a resident of Civil Lines, New Deep Nagar, has been registered at Police Division 4 on the statement of his wife Rani. She has stated that her husband was a sewerman in the MC. He had gone missing in May last year and has not been traced till date.
