The special camp held by the Customs Department here, to ease out the problems of exporters while getting back the IGST refunds, has started bearing fruits. As per the data available with the department, it has sanctioned the IGST refunds worth about Rs25 crore in the past 4-5 days to exporters.

Ashok Sharma IRS, Superintendent Customs Department, said the special camp was organised to extend best possible help to exporters. “Around 133 exporters/ their representatives visited the camp during the last five days. The camp was started on March 13. IGST refunds about Rs25 crore were sanctioned during the camp. The exporters are being guided to rectify these errors and their GST returns. Major errors found are of SB005 i.e. invoice mismatch and SB006- Gateway EGM (export general manifesto) filed,” said Sharma.

Chartered Accountant MK Gupta said exporters had to get GST in three categories. The first category was simple, where exporters export goods with the payment of IGST. “This is a very simple process, as an exporter has to create a login and he/she can do the needful even at home. The second and third types are relatively tedious process, in which exporters have to go through GST departmental procedure. These are the cases, where exporters mistakenly submit wrong GST amount, in which exports are done without paying GST. Then the entire procedure is done through the submission of documents at GST Department,” said Gupta.

The Customs Department is already doing the needful but to make more and more exporters aware of all errors, the department organised the special camp, which would be there till March 31.

Meanwhile, exporters can check refund status on “icegate.gov.in” by creating their login on the link http://www.icegate.gov.in/download/New_Registration_Demo_Updated_APPROV ED.pdf”. After login, one can go to “IGST Validation Details Enquiry” to check the details. Finally, exporters can correct the error mentioned in these columns so that refunds are claimed and processed at the earliest.
