Doraha, July 11

A cycle rally to spread awareness on environment conservation will be organised by ‘We Help You’, an NGO, on July 13, 2018. The rally will be flagged off by SDM Payal Swati Tiwana from Sidhu Hospital, Doraha.

A poster of the same was released by the SDM and members of the NGO here recently. The SDM said it was the duty of all to contribute towards drug de-addiction and environment conservation.

The rally will begin from Sidhu Hospital, Doraha, and will pass through Lakkar Mandi, Rampur village, Katana Sahib, Katani and conclude at Kubbe. The rally is aimed at spreading the message that drug de-addiction is must and planting trees should be considered as important as eating food.

Students from all local schools and colleges along with their principals and teachers will take part in the rally.

“Life without trees is impossible. The main aim of conducting the rally is to plant saplings at different locations in the town and around the villages today and in the coming days,” said Sabu Sethi, a member of the organisation.

The NGO has so far planted more than 200 saplings in Doraha and its surrounding villages. It plans to continue with planting more saplings in the coming days.

“Our organisation do not have office-bearers. We have not come together to gain anything out of this campaign. Our main aim is to come to the rescue of needy and help them as per our capacity. We provide financial help to those who need medical assistance and provide education to kids, who remain bereft of their right,” said Rajesh Abhlish, a member of the organisation.

Harish Kapila, Harjit Khare, Ishar Khare, Vicky Bector, Ranjit Singh Tiwana, Jandeep Kaushal, Binny Mehta work with Sethi as a team and are always on a lookout for those who need help and assistance.

“We are reaching out to various educational institutions, social organisations and other agencies so that we get monetary support and use it for the cause,” said Abhlish.

“We appeal to people through social networking sites like Facebook to extend support to us. We also arrange ‘langar’ from time-to-time. Apart from this, we help students of government schools with stationary and other material,” he added.
