Host college wins quiz contest

JAGRAON: The physics department at Sanmati Government College of Science Education and Research, Jagraon, organised an inter-college quiz competition to inculcate scientific attitude among students.

The physics department at Sanmati Government College of Science Education and Research, Jagraon, organised an inter-college quiz competition to inculcate scientific attitude among students.

Former director of the college, Mahinder Singh Jassal and former head of department, S Baldev Singh Sidhu were the chief guest and guest of honour, respectively.

Ten teams of various colleges participated in the competition, which consisted of eight rounds. After the written test, four teams qualified for the final round.

The team of Sanmati Government College for Science Education and Research Jagraon bagged the first position, while SCD Government College for Boys, Ludhiana, and Government College for Women, Ludhiana, secured the second and third positions, respectively.

The programme was conducted by Prof Rakesh Raman. College director Punam Mittal appreciated the efforts of the department for undertaking such kind of initiative for the benefit of students.
