Seminar dwells on decline in Punjabi culture, literature

Mata Ganga Khalsa College for Girls, Manji Sahib, Kottan, organised a national seminar sponsored by Panjab University, Chandigarh.

The programme was organised by the post-graduate depart-ment of Punjabi on “Punjabi Bhasha, Sahit Ate Sabhyachar: Vibhin Paripekh”.

The session began with the recitation of the shabad, ‘Deh Shiva Bar Mohe Eh’ by students and the inaugural lamp was lit by the guests.

Dr Sarbjeet Kaur Sohal, president, Punjab Sahit Akademi, presented the presidential address.

Dr Sukhdev Singh Sirsa, professor in Punjabi department, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, presented the keynote address.

Dr Rajinder Kaur, Principal, Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, Akkar, chaired the technical session.

Dr Harpal Singh Bhatti, associate professor, AS College, Khanna, was the resource person on the occasion.

Dr Harjinder Singh Lal was the guest of honour.

Inderjit Singh Loppon, Raghbir Singh Saharanmajra and other members of the local committee graced the occasion.

Principal Dr Kuldip Kaur Dhaliwal thanked the guests and the delegates for their presence.

She also appreciated the efforts of the Punjabi department for organising the seminar.

The students were also acquainted about the decline in culture, literature and Punjabi language.
