Students serve people outside banks

Class XI students of Sant Ishar Singh Ji Memorial Public School, Karamsar Rara Sahib, served juice to those standing in long queues to get money from Punjab and Sind Bank (P&SB) and UCO Bank in Karamsar Rara Sahib and Ghudani Kalan, respectively.



Class XI students of Sant Ishar Singh Ji Memorial Public School, Karamsar Rara Sahib, served juice to those standing in long queues to get money from Punjab and Sind Bank (P&SB) and UCO Bank in Karamsar Rara Sahib and Ghudani Kalan, respectively. The woman and elderly people appreciated the effort of the students. Gurjeet Singh Ahluwalia, manager, P&SB, and UCO Bank manager Harbans Singh hailed the effort of the students.

Food party

A ‘Mother’s Recipe’ competition was organised for pre-nursery to Class II students at Darshan Academy. The aim of the competition was to create awareness regarding hygienic vegetarian food. All students brought nutritious dishes in their tiffin boxes and the judges asked questions to students with respect to the dishes. Students enjoyed the food party.

Talk on adolescence

A talk on adolescence was held at DCM Presidency School. Counsellor Priyanka Goyal conducted an interactive session for the students of Classes VI to X. She said,“Adolescence is a period of constant change. It is a phase between childhood and adulthood, accompanied by various social and emotional changes.”

Plantation drive

In all, 20 students from BCM Arya Model Sr Sec School, along with the school environment manager Vipra Kale, conducted a ‘plantation drive’ at Haibowal, Ward No 31. They planted 25 Neem trees on the roadside and gifted plants to Lord Mahavira Hospital and a petrol pump. The students also did graffiti on a wall along the hospital road. The activities were conducted under ‘I Change My City’ project in collaboration with Bala Ganagraha, a Bangalore-based NGO.

Colouring competition

A colouring and handwriting competition for the students of Class I onward was organised at Ryan International School. The competition was to assess the creative skills of the students. Aanya Sachdeva of Class I and Nadar Gujral of Class III bagged a trophy in colouring, Shagunpreet of Class II bagged a trophy in handwriting and Sai S Ray Class Montessori-III was awarded with a gift for participating in the colouring competition.

Creative activity

A creative and skillful activity was organised at New GMT Public School for the pre-nursery students. Students prepared scriptures with colors and cotton the help of their teachers. School principal Manjeet Kaur appreciated the works of the students.

Sports meet

The five-day sports meet ended at DAV School, BRS Nagar. It was a fun-filled event where students from Classes Pre-KG to II participated in different races. The ceremony began with a display of yoga ‘asanas’, followed by aerobics by Class I students. The event ensured hundred per cent participation of the students in different activities and races. Principal JK Sidhu congratulated the winners.
