Ludhiana, May 27

The body of an 85-year-old woman was found in a locked house at Nanak Nagar on the Tajpur road on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Parkash Kaur. She lived alone in the house.

Police sources said the incident came to light on Sunday morning when neighbours sensed foul smell emanating from the woman’s house. They informed the police.

The police broke the door and found the decomposed body of the woman in the room. They suspected the woman died about two or three days ago.

On being informed, her daughter reached there.

The police suspected no foul play. They said viscera would be sent to a laboratory to know the exact cause of Parkash Kaur’s death.
