Ludhiana, January 19
The entire Bansal family is busy campaigning for Parveen Kumar Bansal, BJP candidate from Ludhiana North. Bansal’s parents, wife, children, brother and sister, everyone is making efforts to ensure his victory.
Bansal lost to the Congress candidate Rakesh Pandey in the last elections by a thin margin of 2,168 votes. He has been senior deputy mayor of Ludhiana.
His parents Raghubir Chand and Prem Lata are also actively participating in the campaigning for their son. “They are asking everyone to vote in my favour. Be it senior citizens they come across during a morning walk or women at religious gatherings, my father and mother don’t forget to ask them to vote for me,” said Bansal.
Parveen’s wife, Jaya is not only campaigning for her better half but also makes sure that he takes his meals on time.
“If we have good health, we have everything and can conquer any mountain. So, I make sure that my husband has his meals on time. He goes for campaigning after having his breakfast and lunch is send to him in the field. He is hot dinner whenever he returns home after day’s work as late as 1 am or 1:30 am,” said Jaya, his wife.
While Bansal is busy campaigning, Jaya keeps a track of him and makes sure his tiffin reaches him on time.
“A bowl of fresh home-made khichdi for lunch energises the body and mind and I am again ready to roll for the rest of the day,” says Bansal while having a spoon of his favourite khichdi.
Apart from taking care of his meals, Jaya is also going door-to-door to campaign for her husband and urge them to vote in favour of him.
With less time for campaigning left, everybody from the family is canvassing separately. “It is not possible to go for campaigning together as elections are round the corner. We are all going separately and campaigning in our own ways,” said Bansal.
Bansal’s brother RK Bansal and his wife Shallu Bansal are also actively participating in Bansal’s campaign. While his brother takes care of the office matters, sister-in-law chips in campaigning. Bansal’s sister Neelam Singla and others from the woman brigade of the Bansal family are happily busy campaigning for him.
