Ludhiana: A girl went missing under mysterious circumstances. She was identified as Jasmeet, a resident of Sector 32-A, Chandigarh Road. Complainant Jasbir Singh said his niece was living at his place for the last one month and was doing an IELTS course from Better Think centre. On June 23, she went to attend the class, but did not return. He suspects that she could have been kept in illegal confinement by some unidentified persons. The police have launched a manhunt.
Man arrested with ganja
The anti-narcotics cell arrested a peddler and recovered 500-gram ganja from him. The accused has been identified as Ashok Kumar of Deep Singh Nagar. Investigating Officer Assistant Sub-Inspector Major Singh said the police party was present in Sherpur, where a pedestrian was stopped for checking on suspicion. During a search of his belongings, narcotics were recovered from him. He said the accused was on way to deliver the consignment to his clients.
Heroin seized from peddler
The STF unit of Ludhiana nabbed a peddler and recovered 303-gram heroin from him. The accused has been identified as Sanjiv Kumar. Investigating Officer Surinder Kumar said during a routine patrolling in Shimlapuri area, a person was stopped for checking on suspicion, which led to the recovery of narcotics. Further probe was on to bust the entire supply line, the police said. TNS
