GSSS karatekas secure 3 medals

LUDHIANA: Girl students of Government Senior Secondary School, Mundian Kalan, on the Ludhiana-Chandigarh Road have brought fame to their school by winning three silver medals in the Punjab Schools Inter-District Karate Tournament organised by the Punjab Education Department at Narotam Vidya Mandir, Khanna, recently.

Ludhiana, October 17

Girl students of Government Senior Secondary School, Mundian Kalan, on the Ludhiana-Chandigarh Road have brought fame to their school by winning three silver medals in the Punjab Schools Inter-District Karate Tournament organised by the Punjab Education Department at Narotam Vidya Mandir, Khanna, recently.

Ujala, student of Class IX, made her presence felt as she finished as runner-up in the U-17 category to win silver medal. Two other girls from the school, Nikita and Ashmita, also finished among position holders.

Nikita, student of Class IX, bagged silver in the U-19 group while Ashmita of the 10th standard also secured silver medal in different weight groups in the same age group.

The students were honoured for their achievement by Principal Gurcharan Singh. Manpreet Singh, lecturer, physical education department, along with other faculty members Amandeep Singh, Raminder Sharma, Jyoti, Seema, Rohini, Prabhjot Kaur and Aruna, were also present on this occasion.
