Health Department raids wholesale tobacco shops, destroys cigarettes

LUDHIANA: The Health Department today raided the wholesale tobacco shops located in the Sherpur area. The raid was conducted under the supervision of Dr Andesh Kang, District Food Officer.

Ludhiana, December 5

The Health Department today raided the wholesale tobacco shops located in the Sherpur area.

The raid was conducted under the supervision of Dr Andesh Kang, District Food Officer. Cigarette packets were found from these shops. There were no warning boards displayed outside these shops which was a violation of the Cigarette and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA). All packets of cigarettes were destroyed on the spot by the team.
