Hit and run: City girl killed in accident

NABHA: A girl identified as Amritpal Kaur, a resident of Kuliwal (Jamalpur), near Ludhiana, was killed in a hit and run case on Tuesday.

A girl identified as Amritpal Kaur, a resident of Kuliwal (Jamalpur), near Ludhiana, was killed in a hit and run case on Tuesday. An unidentified driver banged his car into the victim’s vehicle leaving her seriously injured.

Father of the victim in his complaint to the police said his daughter Amritpal Kaur was coming from the Patiala side and proceeding towards Bhadson in her own car. He said when she was passing through Lachkani village another vehicle hit her car injuring her seriously.

The accident occurred at around 2.30 pm and the victim was immediately rushed to a private hospital where she succumbed to her injuries at 9.30 pm, he added.

The police has registered a case against the unidentified driver under Sections 279 and 304 of the IPC and started investigations. The body of the victim was handed over to the family members after conducting a post-mortem examination.
