Illegal parking lots sealed

The Municipal Corporation has sealed two unauthorised parking lots at the back of the new courts in Model Gram here. The illegal parking sites were set up in two vacant plots.

It was learnt that these parking sites had been running for a long time. The MC took action only after a complaint was filed by the local residents. A team of the MC sealed these parking sites on Thursday night when no vehicle was parked there, according to officials.

Building Inspector, Zone D, Gurwinder Singh said: “These parking sites were running without permission from the Municipal Corporation. The residents had filed a complaint against these sites as they were suffering a lot due to heavy flow of traffic in the area.”

“The distance between these parking sites was around 100 metres. The plot owners had given their plots to private parking contractors on lease. However, no police complaint has been filed in this regard,” he said.
