A student of Class XII, BCM Arya Model School, Kanika, has bagged the first position in the non-medical with 98.2 per cent.
Kanika has scored 100 marks in mathematics. She also wishes to become a mathematics lecturer. What drew her towards the aim was her mother’s unfulfilled dream of becoming a professor. She said, “My mother, who is now a housewife wanted to become a professor. She left her dreams after getting married.”
While sharing the mantra to excel in mathematics subject, she said: “I enjoy doing mathematics. One needs to understand the logic and concept rather than stressing on the number of steps. A question can be solved in ‘n’ number of ways. Calculus is my favourite part of mathematics.”
"I had a very normal routine and did nothing extraordinary. I used to start studying at 10:30pm and used to continue till 2:30 am. I preferred late night studies as I felt invigorated and focused in those hours. In the daytime, I used to enjoy with my friends," said she.
She further adds: “I used to evade stress by travelling and dancing. There is not even a single party or event that I have missed due to exams. I was glued to my cell phone all the time. However, I made sure I am through with all that I have studied. I made the concepts clear and revised regularly. I did not believe in cramming.”
