Katihar-Jalandhar train to chug from July 13

LUDHIANA: For the convenience of commuters and to manage the extra rush, the Railways have decided to run a Weekly Express Special train — 05717/05718 — between Katihar and Jalandhar City from July 13 to September 2.

For the convenience of commuters and to manage the extra rush, the Railways have decided to run a Weekly Express Special train — 05717/05718 — between Katihar and Jalandhar City from July 13 to September 2. The train will make eight trips in each direction.

The 05717 Katihar-Jalandhar City Weekly Express Special Train will depart from Katihar on every Thursday at 9 am from July 13 to August 31 to reach Jalandhar City at 6.30 pm the next day.

In the return journey, the 05718 weekly train will depart from Jalandhar City on every Saturday at 1.15 am from July 15 to September 2 to reach Katihar at 11.30 am the next day.

During its journey from Katihar to Jalandhar City, the train (05717) will have a 10 minute halt (from 5.20 pm to 5.30 pm on every Friday) at Ludhiana. While proceeding to Katihar from Jalandhar City, the train (05718) will have a 10 minute stoppage (from 2.45 am to 2.55 am every Saturday) at Ludhiana.

Comprising one AC-2 tier, two AC-3 tier, five sleeper class, six general class and two disabled-friendly second class-cum-luggage van coaches, the Katihar-Jalandhar City Weekly Express Special Train will stop at Naugachia, Khagaria, Begusarai, Barauni, Hajipur, Sonpur, Chhapra, Siwan, Thawe, Tamkuhi Road, Padrauna, Kaptanganj, Gorakhpur, Basti, Gonda, Sitapur Cantt, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Ambala Cantt, and Ludhiana stations enroute both directions.
