Different party leaders and supporters targeted the Opposition parties, including Captain Amarinder Singh, during the release of AAP’s manifesto for trade and industry.

Former Congress leader Jagmeet Brar called Kejriwal a ‘maseeha’ in the 21st century Indian politics. He said after Mahatma Gandhi and Ram Manohar Lohia, Kejriwal was the first politician who took a stand and challenged communal politics.

Speaking against the rhetoric that Kejriwal was an outsider, he said Kejriwal was a “born Punjabi” because Hisar was part of Punjab when he was born. Brar said he was astonished that Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal never demanded compensation from the Centre during the recent visit of PM Narendra Modi to Ludhiana.

SAD divergent to the path shown by Guru Nanak: Jarnail Singh

Punjab co-in charge Jarnail Singh said there had been no relief or package from the Centre even though the industry in Punjab was dying. While there has been a proliferation of liquor vends from 5,000 to 12,500 in the state, over 22,000 industrial units had closed down, he said. Not only this, 250 schools had also closed, he said, adding that though SAD claimed to be a ‘panthik’ party, it was divergent to the path shown by Guru Nanak.

“While using the weighing scale, Guru Nanak used to give away saying ‘tera, tera’ (yours, yours), but Badals with their election symbol (also a weighing scale), only say ‘mine, mine’, as their only motive is to amass wealth through corrupt means,” he said. Punjab AAP convener Gurpreet Singh Waraich said Modi made a fool of Punjabis and gave charkhas instead of industrial package during his recent visit to Punjab indirectly saying you are ‘ullu de charkhe’.

Calling Captain Amarinder Singh as Captain ‘saap’ (snake) instead of ‘saab’, he mockingly said by advocating for no CBI inquiry against Majithia in drugs case, he was hypocritically burning the ‘chitta ravan’ (effigy of drugs). He also targeted the Captain for the City Centre scam.

People of Punjab won’t forgive Captain: Phoolka

Senior leader and Dakha candidate of the party HS Phoolka also targeted Captain Amarinder Singh saying he had given Jagdish Tytler a clean chit in the 1984 Sikh riots case, but people of Punjab would not forgive him for this.

Captain, Badals ‘lootere’, says Bhagwant Mann

Senior leader Bhagwant Mann also called the Captain and Badals ‘lootere’ who looted Punjab during the 15 years of Congress and SAD-BJP rule. He said the industry had closed down in Mandi Gobindgarh and Loh Mandi was gone. He said people of the state were suffering and not getting anything to eat, but Badals were claiming roads were being built, which have also been sold off on contract to collect toll from people. He said Parkash Singh Badal said his age would increase by 10 years if he was voted back to power, but life of Punjabis would reduce due to the anti-people policies of the government.

Speaking during the release of the manifesto, Kanwar Sandhu, the party candidate from Kharar and Chairperson, Punjab Dialogue Committee that prepared the manifesto, said the manifesto had been made with the commitment of the revival of sectors of the industry, while ending the goonda tax, inspector raj and corruption, which was impeding the growth of the industry in the state.

He said several points have been discussed so that all sections of the industry could benefit, even small traders, etc.

Kejriwal is the ‘Arjun of Mahabharata’ in politics: Sanjay Singh

AAP Punjab affairs in charge Sanjay Singh called Kejriwal as the ‘Arjun of Mahabharata’ in politics. He said: “The Opposition parties say AAP doesn’t know governance, but the party indeed doesn’t know the governance of transport, sand, land mafia. It only knows how to save crores in building flyovers and give free medicines to people and make state-of-the-art mohalla clinics and other initiatives for the welfare of people.”
