Doraha, August 16

Students celebrated Janmashtami and Independence Day at Guru Nanak Model Senior Secondary School, Doraha, with pomp and show. A special assembly was conducted in the school by students of Jupiter House. Rajni Gahlot of Class XII (non-medical) made the students familiar with the sacrifices of martyrs. A heart-touching song filled everyone with patriotic feelings.

Gaganpreet Kaur of Class XI (medical) delivered a speech related to Janmashtami. A dance performance by tiny tots based on Lord Krishna’s life was commendable. Principal DP Thakur said, “These festivals always inculcate feelings of devotion and we should celebrate them to make children aware of our rich mythology and culture.”
