Man dies after car hits bike

LUDHIANA: A 43-year-old man was killed after his bike was allegedly hit by a car near Pawa Khakat village yesterday.

A 43-year-old man was killed after his bike was allegedly hit by a car near Pawa Khakat village yesterday. The deceased has been identified as Jai Narayan of Dhillon Colony in Lohara.

In a complaint to the police, the deceased’s nephew, Charanjit Kamla, said his uncle was going to Sahnewal when a speeding car allegedly hit his bike. “My uncle died on the spot due to negligence on the part of the car driver. The car was coming on the wrong side. I was behind my uncle on another bike when the accident took place.”

The deceased is survived by his wife and two children. Jai Narayan was the sole breadwinner of the family.

The Sahnewal police have booked Pankaj Kumar of Tagore Nagar under Section 279, 304 A and 427 of the IPC.
