LUDHIANA: A 45-year-old man drowned in a canal. The deceased has been identified as Rajiv Sharma, a resident of Guru Nanak Nagar.



A 45-year-old man drowned in a canal. The deceased has been identified as Rajiv Sharma, a resident of Guru Nanak Nagar. The deceased’s wife, Anju Bala, told the police that her husband worked in some cycle parts-manufacturing factory in Shimlapuri. He went for a walk around 7 am on Tuesday morning along the Lohara bridge canal. While he was walking along the canal, he skidded and fell into the canal. A passerby noticed his body and informed the police. Suspecting no foul play, the police initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174, CrPC.
