He said a camp would be organised by the Martial Art World, Ludhiana, for people of this region at Amar Palace near Jalandhar bypass on Sunday, where specialists would demonstrate various forms of the art. Xianghua Lisa Li, the 5th Dan Belt from South Korea said:  “People should encourage their children to learn the game,” she said. oc

3 POs arrested

The Salem Tabri police have arrested three proclaimed offenders (POs) wanted in different criminal cases. The accused have been identified as Sajmi of New Preet Nagar, Mohd Abhitab of Shakti Nagar and Mohd Afzal of Shakti Nagar. Acting on a tip off, the accused were arrested from the Grain Market. They were wanted by the police in theft and other cases registered against them in 2012.

Man held for rape

The Salem Tabri police have arrested a man on the charge of raping his sister-in-law. The accused has been identified as Satwinder Singh of Gagandeep Colony. The 21-year-old complainant said the accused was her sister’s husband, adding that he entered her house when she was alone and raped her. The accused was arrested.

Gambling: 4 held 

The Daba police have arrested four persons for gambling. They have been identified as Arun Kumar of Bachitar Nagar, Vinay Kumar of Dhandari Kalan, Bablu Singh of Giaspura and Monu of Dhandari Kalan. The police said acting on a tip-off, a raid was conducted at 33-Feet road, from where the accused were arrested. The police have also recovered Rs 5,000 from the spot. TNS
