A large number of employees of Ludhiana Municipal Corporation under the banner of Municipal Employees Sangharash Committee organised a gate rally at Zone D Office of Ludhiana Municipal Corporation on Thursday.

The MC employees held the gate rally against the failure of the state government in releasing their salaries for last three months. During the gate rally, the protesting employees raised slogans against the state government and authorities of Ludhiana Municipal Corporation.

Later on, a delegation of Municipal Employees Sangharash Committee also held a meeting with Ludhiana Municipal Commissioner Jaskaran Singh at his office and handed over a memorandum to him.

The committee chairman, Ashwani Sahota, said the municipal employees have not been paid salaries since month of April due to which they have been facing a lot of difficulties.

“Some of our colleagues are not even able to pay the school and colleges fee of their children. Besides, we have also been facing problems in meeting daily needs of our families,” said Ashwani Sahota.

He further informed if the salaries of the protesting employees were not released till June 18, then the MC employees would again hold a massive gate rally on June 19.
