Ansh (8) and Moksh (5) have no idea that they have lost their father Vishal Kumar, a fireman, who was killed while dousing the flames at the collapsed factory in Mustaq Ganj on Monday. God has been unkind to them as they had lost their mother about a year back. She died of dengue. Now, their grandmother and paternal uncle and aunt are taking care of the orphaned children.

Their grandmother, Asha Rani, while wiping her tears, said she was not keeping well. “For how long will I survive? The other son is a daily wage earner. Vishal was the only breadwinner, who took care of the entire family. I lost my husband a long time ago and the upbringing of both boys was too tough for me. And now, we have faced another setback in life. God has been cruel to us, especially to these kids, who have lost both their parents,” said Asha Rani.

Both kids were busy playing in the street, having no idea what destiny had done to them. They were not willing to come inside and it was after their grandmother said that she would give them money to buy sweets, they came inside for five minutes. While the relatives visit their home, the kids kept busy with their own games.

Asha Rani said the paternal uncle and aunt loved both kids too much and they had no child even after six years of marriage. “Perhaps, God has his own way of providing justice, that is why she (the paternal aunt) could not give birth to her own child. Both kids call her their mother. I want that the government should provide a secured job to my other son, so he can provide both these kids with good education and upbringing,” said Asha Rani.

When both Ansh and Moksh were asked about their father, they said he would come back soon, he had gone to office!
