PM to chat live with BODs through videoconferencing

LUDHIANA: The board of directors (BoDs) of top-20 smart cities will get a chance to interact with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as he would take up a discussion on Smart City Mission on June 25.

The board of directors (BoDs) of top-20 smart cities will get a chance to interact with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as he would take up a discussion on Smart City Mission on June 25.

He will also launch the projects of those smart cities which are ready. It will be the first interaction of all BODs of top-20 smart cities with the PM.

The videoconferencing is likely to take place at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on June 25. The main aim is to take stock of preparation of the selected smart cities, where they would give brief information about their vision for the implementation of the smart city project.

Today, a meeting also took place where Neeraj Mandloi, Joint Secretary from the Ministry of Urban Development, interacted with the officials regarding this upcoming event.

While giving the information, MC Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said: “It will be a great opportunity to interact with the PM though videoconferencing, but it will also help in collecting information about preparations of other top smart cities.”

All BODs of Ludhiana Smart City Limited are likely to participate in the videoconferencing along with Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria, Deputy Commissioner Ravi Bhagat, Police Commissioner Jatinder Aulakh, MC Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori, Sanjay Goel, Chairman of Indian Institutes of Architects, Punjab Chapter, Ludhiana; KNS Kang, Vice-Chairman, Ludhiana Management Association; Rajinder Gupta, Vice-Chairman, Punjab State Planning Board; NK Sharma, Chief Engineer, Central Zone, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited, Ludhiana; and Lachman Das Chief Engineer Municipal Corporation.
