Nomination papers of 77 candidates rejected

LUDHIANA: Out of the nomination papers filed for upcoming Assembly elections, those of 146 candidates from 14 constituencies have been deemed valid and correct.

Ludhiana, January 19

Out of the nomination papers filed for upcoming Assembly elections, those of 146 candidates from 14 constituencies have been deemed valid and correct. District Electoral Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ravi Bhagat informed 77 nominations out of 223 have been rejected.

Khanna

Nomination papers of AAP candidate Anil Datt, Indian National Congress candidate Gurkirat Singh, Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Ranjit Singh, Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Shashi Vardhan, Saada Punjab Party candidate Dharamjit Singh, Revolutionary Socialist Party candidate Baljit Singh, Shiromani Akali Dal (A) candidate Rajiv Kumar, Vijay Diamond of Apna Punjab Party, Independent candidates Chandra Dev and Bhupinder Singh were found to be valid.

Samrala

Of a total of 16 nominations, those found correct are of Indian National Congress party candidate Amrik Singh Dhillon, Shiromani Akali Dal (A) candidate Santa Singh Umaidapuri, AAP candidate Sarbans Singh Manki, Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Dalbir Singh, Revolutionary Socialist Party candidate Ashwani Kumar, Shiromani Akali Dal (A) candidate Shingara Singh, Democratic Party of India candidate Krishan Lal, Samaj Adhikar Kalyan candidate Bhupinder Singh, Democratic Party of India candidate Manohar Lal.

Sahnewal constituency

Nominations found valid are of Congress candidate Satwinder Kaur, SAD (A) candidate Sharanjit Singh, BSP candidate Surinder Kumar, AAP candidate Harjot Singh Bains, and J&K National Panthers Party candidate Sushil Kumar, Apna Punjab Party candidate Jagbir Singh, Bahujan Sangharsh Dal candidate Randhir Singh, Hindustani Shakti Sena candidate Nagindar Kumar, SAD (A) candidate Manveer Singh Grewal, Independent candidates Satwant Singh, Gurdeep Singh Kahlon, Daljit Singh, Daleep Singh. 

Ludhiana East 

Valid nominations are of Congress candidate Sanjiv Talwar, All India Trinamool Congress candidate Hardeep Singh, BSP candidate Gurpreet Singh, AAP candidate Daljit Singh, Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Ranjit Singh, Shiromani Akali Dal (A) candidate Jaswant Singh and Independent candidates Gurmel Singh, Ramesh Kumar.

Ludhiana-South 

Valid nominations belong to SAD candidate Hira SinghGabria BSP candidate Charan Singh, Congress candidate Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, Democratic Swaraj Party candidate Kunwar Ranjan Singh, Jai Jawan Jai Kisan Partycandidate Darshan Singh, Apna Punjab Party candidate Parminder Singh Kuki, LIP candidate Balwinder Singh, and Indepedent candidates Sanjay Kumar, Sundar Lal, Maninder Sharma.

Atam Nagar 

Fifteen nominations were filed from the constituency. Nomination papers of Congress party candidate Kamaljit Karwal, SAD candidate Gurmeet Singh, Nationalist Congress Party candidate Deepak, BSP candidate Rajesh Taank, Samaj Adhikar Kalyan Partycandidate Avtar Singh, LIP candidate Simarjit Singh, Swabhiman Party candidate Ravi (Vaid) Kumar, indpendent candidates Udham Singh, Shamsher Singh Grewal, Surinder Kaur, Rajesh Khokhar and Ram Kishor were found valid.

Ludhiana (Central)

Ten nominations were filed in the constituency. Those found valid were of BSP candidate Akhilesh Singh, All India Trinamool Congress candidate Sushil Kumar, Congress candidate Surinder Kumar Dawar, BJP candidate Gurdev Sharma, LIP candidate Vipin Sood Kaka, Democratic Swaraj Party candidate Rajiv Kumar, and Independent candidates Anita and Rajiv Kumar.

Ludhiana (West)

Of 22 nominations from the constituency papers of NCP candidate Arun Kumar, AAP candidate Ahibaab Singh Grewal, BJP candidate Kamal Chaitly, BSP candidate Kunal, Congresscandidate Bharat Bhushan (Ashu), Republican Party of India (A)candidate Jagroop Singh Carrara, Apna Punjab Party candidate Balkaur Gill, Swabhiman Party candidate Mandeep Dhaliwal, Lokpriya Samaj Party candidate Ram Kumar, Bahujan Mukti Party Samaj Party candidate Vaid Ram Singh, Independent candidates Arshdeep Singh, Krishan Lal Babbar, Navpreet Singh Bedi, Baldev Raj Katana were found to be valid.

Ludhiana (North)

Of 14 nominations filed from here, valid ones are of BJP candidate Parveen Bansal, Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Rajendra Kumar, the Indian National Congress candidate Rakesh Pandey, National Panthers Party candidate Jeet Sharma, Bahujan Mukti party candidate Joginder Lal, Shiv Sena candidate Prem Bhushan Jain, Lok Insaaf candidate Randhir Singh Sivia and Independent candidates Hemraj Aggarwal, Madan Lal Bagga, Praveen Kumar and Rakesh Jain filed nomination papers, which were found valid.

Gill constituency

Nomination papers of Indian National Congress candidate Kuldeep Singh, AAP candidate Jeevan Singh, Shiromani Akali Dal.candidate Darshan Singh, Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Bikker Singh, Apna Punjab Party candidate Sukhaprita Singh, Bahujan Mukti Party candidate Harbans Singh, Independent candidates Suneet, Kartindarapal Singh, Kuldeep Singh, and Darshan Singh were valid.

Payal constituency

Of 18 nominations from here, those of SAD candidate Ishar Singh Meharban, All India Trinamool Congress candidate Sandeep Singh, Nationalist Congress Party candidate Kulwant Singh Cheema, AAP candidate Gurpreet Lapran, Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Dalbara Singh,Indian National Congress candidate Lakhbir Singh Lakha, Democratic Swaraj Party candidate Inderjit Singh, Shiromani Akali Dal (A). Gurvinder Singh, Apna Punjab Party candidate Capt Rampal Singh and Indpendent candidates Azad Shamsher Singh, Karan Kangra, Jagtar Singh, and Prem Singh were found valid.

Dakha 

Sixteen nominations were filed from here. Those found valid were of AAP candidate HS Phoolka, Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Jaswinder Singh, Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Manpreet Singh Ayali,Indian National Congress candidate Major Singh, Apna Punjab Party candidate Kulwant Singh, National Panthers Party candidate Gursharan Singh, Shiromani Akali Dal (A) candidate Joginder Singh, Democratic Swaraj Party candidate Tarsem Lal and Independent candidates Jai Prakash Jain, and Manpreet Singh.

Raikot

Of 18 nominations, those of Indian National Congress candidate Amar Singh, Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Inder Iqbal Singh, BSPcandidate Surinder Singh, AAP candidate Jagtar Singh, CPI (M) candidate Mota Singh, Bahujan Mukti Party candidate Sikander Singh and Independent candidate Daljit Singh filed nomination papers were found valid. In Jagraon, 17 nominations were filed. Papers of SAD candidate Amarjeet Kaur Sahoke, AAP candidate Sarvjit Kaur Manuke, BSPcandidate Subedar Sadhu Singh, CPI (M) candidate Baljit Singh, Indian National Congress candidate Malkit Singh Dakha, Apna Punjab Party candidate Jasbir Singh and Independent candidates Avtar Singh Billa,Gurminder Kaur, Gurmeet Singh, Ramrachhapal Singh were found valid.
