Process of setting up college, ITI has begun: Cong leader

RAIKOT: Senior Congress leader and vice-president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Dr Amar Singh Boparai on Wednesday said the process of setting up a new degree college and Industrial Training Institute had begun.

Senior Congress leader and vice-president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Dr Amar Singh Boparai on Wednesday said the process of setting up a new degree college and Industrial Training Institute had begun.

He said apart from that, Rs 2 crore had been granted for development works in the town and Rs 7 crore would be spent on power transmission infrastructure.

The Congress leader said Rs 11 crore had been kept for the repair of roads connecting 42 villages.

Boparai added that Rs 4.75 crore would be spent on the Raikot-Jagraon road and Rs 2.74 crore on Halwara-Pakhowal road.

Congress leader Boparai appreciated Chief Minister Capt. Amrinder Singh for directing the authorities concerned to expedite the work on opening a degree college and Industrial Training Institute without any delay.

The Congress leader said with the move, students in the region would not need to travel long distances to get higher education.
