Put career guidance flexes, Edu Dept tells schools

LUDHIANA:The office of the Director General School Education has directed District Education Officers to ask all government school heads to get flexes and charts regarding career counselling pasted in schools.

Ludhiana, June 24

The office of the Director General School Education has directed District Education Officers to ask all government school heads to get flexes and charts regarding career counselling pasted in schools.

It has been stated that the information related to vocations and career avenues for students of Class VIII, Class X and Class XII should be part of the flexes, along with the options of courses which can be pursued.

District Education Officer (Senior Secondary) Charanjit Singh said all career counselors had been directed to get the charts pasted according to the directions of the government. Parents said not just flexes, but career guidance was of the utmost importance. “Pasting flexes is a good start, but there should be full-fledged system of guidance to students based on talent and aptitude assessment,” Harjit Singh, a parent said.  — TNS
