Railways extend run of special trains

Northern Railway has announced the extension of run of special trains in order to clear extra rush of passengers during the summer season. Three trains running on the Nagpur-Amritsar-Nagpur, Jabalpur-Atari-Jabalpur and Katihar-Ferozepur-Katihar sections will make 80 additional trips during April-June, 2016.

The 02125 Nagpur-Amritsar AC Superfast Weekly Special Fare special train has been extended to run on every Saturday from May 7 to 28, 2016, (four trips) while its return service, the 02126 Amritsar-Nagpur train will run on every Monday from May 9 to 30, 2016 (four trips). The 02125 train will leave Nagpur at 5.50 pm to reach Amritsar at 9.05 pm the next day while in return journey, the train will depart from Amritsar at 4.20 am and arrive Nagpur at 4.25 am the next day.

With nine AC 3-tier, four AC 2-tier and one first AC coaches, the Nagpur-Amritsar-Nagpur AC Superfast Weekly train will have commercial halts at Bhopal, Jhansi, Gwalior, Agra Cantonment, New Delhi, Ambala Cantonment, Ludhiana and Jalandhar City in both directions.

The 01707 Jabalpur-Atari Bi-weekly Special Train will depart on every Tuesday and Saturday from Jabalpur from April 5 to June 28, 2016 (25 trips) at 9.15 am to reach Atari at 11.45 am the next day. In return journey, the train (01708) will depart on every Wednesday and Sunday from Atari from April 6 to 29, 2016 (25 trips) at 2.45 pm to reach Jabalpur at 5.20 pm the next day.

Comprising of one AC 2-tier, two AC 3-tier, seven sleeper class, four general class and two disabled friendly second class-cum-luggage van coaches, the Jabalpur-Atari-Jabalpur Bi-weekly special train will stop at Katni Murwara, Damoh, Sagour, Bina Malkhedi, Lalitpur, Jhansi, Gwalior, Agra Cantonment., Mathura, New Delhi, Ambala Cantonment., Ludhiana and Amritsar stations en route in both directions.

The 05717 Katihar-Ferozepur Cantonment Weekly Special train will depart from Katihar at 09.00 am on every Thursday from April 21 to June 30, 2016 (11 trips) to reach Ferozepur Cantonment at 7.10 pm the next day. In the return direction, the train (05718) will depart from Ferozepur Cantonment at 10.35 pm on every Friday from April 22 to July 1, 2016 (11 trips) to reach Katihar at 11.30 am the third day.

With one AC 2-tier, two AC 3-tier, five sleeper class, six general class and and two disabled-friendly second class-cum-luggage van coaches, the Katihar-Ferozepur Cantonment-Katihar Weekly Special train will stop at Naugachia, Khagaria, Begusarai, Barauni, Hajipur, Sonpur, Chhapra, Siwan, Thawe, Tamkuhi Road, Padrauna, Kaptanganj, Gorakhpur, Basti, Gonda, Sitapur Cantonment, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Ambala Cantonment, Ludhiana and Jalandhar City stations in both directions.
