Rail passengers remained a harassed lot due to the persistently erratic run of trains. While most of the long-route trains are running way behind schedule, cancellation and rescheduling of trains at the last minute further adds to the woes of travelling public.
The railways said four trains remained cancelled, 11 were rescheduled and 20-odd long-route trains were running behind schedule by an hour to 13 hours.
According to the railway officials, two pairs of intercity express trains (12459/60 and 14681/82) on the New Delhi-Amritsar/ Jalandhar route remained non-operational, while 11 long-route trains were rescheduled for late departure due to operational reasons.
Among the trains rescheduled were 12238 Jammu-Varanasi Begumpura Express (1 hour), 12332 Jammu-Howrah Himgiri Express (1.45 hours), 12413 Ajmer-Jammu Pooja Superfast Express (6.15 hours), 12491 Barauni-Jammu Maur Dhwaj Express (1 hour), 13006 Amritsar-Howrah Mail (3.05 hours), 14649 Jaynagar-Amritsar Saryu Yamuna Express (2.10 hours), 14674 Amritsar-Jaynanagr Shaheed Express (7.20 hours), 15210 Amritsar-Saharsa Jansewa Express (4.40 hours), 15212 Amritsar-Darbhanga Jannayak Express (6.25 hours), 22424 Amritsar-Gorakhpur Express (3.55 hours) and 22432 Udhampur-Allahabad Express (2.45 hours).
