Ludhiana, June 24

Despite four days having passed since car-borne men shot at a lock distributor in broad daylight in his office on the Kalgidhar road, Field Ganj, the police are yet to find the exact cause of the attack.

Sources maintained that the police had questioned the three brothers, including the injured one, to know if they had any personal enmity with anyone. However, the trio still stick to their earlier statement that they have no enmity or any financial or property dispute with anyone.

Police officials felt until and unless the cause of firing was clear, the probe could not get on the right path.

Had they (assailants) wanted to loot any cash or valuables, they would have done that. But they did not ask for cash or valuables, said Additional DCP Gurpreet Singh Sikand while talking to The Tribune.

“I have also spoken to three brothers to inquire if they have any doubt on anyone, but none of them raised any suspicion on anyone. We have recovered CCTV footage of the Swift car used in the crime. Probe is on to identify them,” said the ADCP.

On June 20, three armed men barged into Chaddha Stores in broad daylight and shot at its owner Tarlochan Singh (58) thrice in the legs.
