Retired teacher (75) rapes 7-year-old

The Khamano police have arrested a retired teacher on the charge of raping a seven-year-old girl of Khant village, near here. He has been identified as Kaka Singh (75), a resident of the same village.

The accused was presented before a local court that sent him to judicial custody for 14 days in Nabha Jail. Kaka Singh’s wife has died.

According to the police, the victim’s father has stated that his daughter was the friend of the accused’s granddaughter. She often visited Kaka’s house to play with her friend. On the evening of April 25, the minor girl visited his house in routine. Kaka, who was alone at the house, allegedly lured the minor girl to his room where he raped her.

When the girl told her parents about the incident, they took her to a hospital and the matter was reported to the police. Khamano SHO Shamsher Singh said a case had been registered against Kaka Singh under the POCSO Act. — OC
