Ludhiana, December 11

Bollywood actress Richa Chadha has denied having made any purported media statements that actresses in the film industry are sexually harassed. She has stated that headline in a published story was misleading.

Richa was in the city for the 'Signature Start Up Masterclass' event organised at Ludhiana Club last night.

Speaking about struggle in Bollywood, she said outsiders had to struggle harder as compared to 'star kids'. Asked about her career plans, she replied: "Abhi toh tikne ka plan hai" (I intend to stay in the film industry). She said outsiders struggled to find a break in films and to pay rent of costly accommodation in Mumbai. But the children of actors have their own struggles of having to maintain looks and about who would launch them, she said. She said being an outsider she was still trying to establish herself.

When asked, Richa said she would rather like to be known as "sweet" as compared to the "bold" image that she carried in the film industry.

She also expressed elation at the box office success of her new film "Fukrey Returns", which is a sequel to "Fukrey" released earlier in 2013. "Fukrey Returns" has made the same Box Office collections within three days that the earlier film had made in weeks. The film has been loved more in North India, including Punjab, she said. As an actor also, doing the new film was much more fun, she added.

She would like to do a Punjabi film if offered. Though she has been part of a short film in Punjabi. She also said if she started singing as a celebrity, she would debut with a Punjabi song as her father hailed from Amritsar.
