Robbers to be arrested soon, says Dhoke

LUDHIANA: A day after the loot of Rs 18 lakh from the employees of a cash-collection company hired by HDFC Bank on Ferozepur Road, Police Commissioner RN Dhoke has claimed that the police had almost zeroed in on the robbers and they would be arrested anytime.

A day after the loot of Rs 18 lakh from the employees of a cash-collection company hired by HDFC Bank on Ferozepur Road, Police Commissioner RN Dhoke has claimed that the police had almost zeroed in on the robbers and they would be arrested anytime.

Dhoke said special teams had been formed for the purpose and raids were being conducted at the specified hideouts of the robbers.

When the CP was asked whether the role of cash-collection employees was being investigated or their connivance with robbers was suspected, he said role of cash-collection employees in the robbery had not come to the fore so far.

Sources said the police had identified the gang behind the robbery and teams were dispatched to various places to arrest them.

The sources said the police had scanned footage of several CCTV cameras installed in the area and call details of the cash-collection employees.

Gurpreet Kaur Purewal, ADCP, said the police were yet to get any clue about the robbers.
