Hindi Divas celebrated

Ludhiana: GMT Public School celebrated ''Hindi Divas''. On this occasion, Ashu Gulati, a Hindi teacher, spoke about the national language. She reminded the students about the interesting facts of the language.

Ludhiana: GMT Public School celebrated 'Hindi Divas'. On this occasion, Ashu Gulati, a Hindi teacher, spoke about the national language. She reminded the students about the interesting facts of the language. Students also enchanted a few of Rahim's dohas. Principal Charanpreet Kaur and vice-principal Geetu Chhabra motivated the students to respect the national language and told them about the importance of mother tongue for the citizens of India.

Carnival at Eastwood

A carnival for kids was organised at Eastwood International School under the leadership of the school president Anand Saroop Singh Mohie and principal Amandeep Kaur Bakshi. The school organised various kinds of swings, adventures rides and team building games for the capacity building of the students and to inculcate team spirit in them. Dance party was also organised. Refreshment was provided to the students. Principal Dr Bakshi marked the event by saying that these kinds of programmes and games are essential along with academics as they help in the personality development of the students.

Grandparents Day celebrated

Greenland Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana, celebrated Grandparents Day. To mark this day, students of classes Pre-Nursery to KG made cards for their grandparents as a token of love and affection. The messages on the cards talked about the heartfelt gratitude towards grandparents. It was a delight to watch tiny tots recite rhymes, sing songs in honour of their grandparents. The principal, Jyoti Pujara, appreciated the efforts of the students. She said empathetic words, sharing and caring mean a lot to the bond between grandparents and the tiny tots.

World Car-Free Day celebrated

Students of Montessori classes at Ryan, Dugri, celebrated the World Car-Free Day on Friday to encourage motorists to give up their cars for a day and raise awareness about the alarming pollution levels in the city. A rhyme recitation competition was conducted for the Montessori classes where they recited poems based on the theme 'pollution'. The purpose of this competition was to create awareness among students about pollution and its effects. The headmistress of the school, Shilpi Gurtu, said: “We should all be sensitive towards environment before it gets too late.” — TNS
