Seminar held at Govt College for Girls

The Department of Botany at Government College for Girls Ludhiana organised a national seminar on ‘Biodiversity Conservation in a Megadiverse Country: Issues, Challenges & Solutions’.



The Department of Botany at Government College for Girls Ludhiana organised a national seminar on ‘Biodiversity Conservation in a Megadiverse Country: Issues, Challenges & Solutions’. The seminar was aimed at understanding the crucial roles that biodiversity plays in sustainable development. Prof Sunita Kapila, Chairperson, Dept of Botany, Panjab University, Chandigarh,  said humans have caused the major extinction to the biodiversity and they are the ones who can save it too. Dr Mukti Gill mentioned the need of the hour to protect the biodiversity as it is our mother earth. 

Workshop on personality development 

A three-day workshop on ‘Personality Development and Dining Etiquette’ began in the auditorium of Khalsa College for Women Civil Lines Ludhiana. The workshop has been organised by the English Department in collaboration with International School of Etiquette (ISOE). Around 300 students have registered to attend the workshop. Highlighting the objectives of the workshop Roopa Pahwa, founder of ISOE, presented the thematic base of the workshop and discussed the significance of first impression.  The different sessions would include body language, interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, telephonic and written conversation, presentation skills, voice modulation and dining manners etc. 

Students win overall trophy

The students of Kamla Lohtia SD College Ludhiana showcased their remarkable talent in co-curricular activities by winning several prizes in khitiz 2018, an inter college competition held at GNA University Phagwara. Aman Mishra and Shubham Kumar Karan of BCA II won first prize in Graphic Design Competition while the college students Madhav Thakurand Harman of BCA II won second prize in Programming Contest, Saksham Narad, Sushant Handa, Kashish Jain and Bhupinder Kumar of BCom II won second prize in Business Plan Contest.

Sri Aurobindo College inks MoU 

Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), University of Delhi. Through its association with them, the pedagogy of teaching, knowledge contents, field studies and student engagement practices for their holistic development are at par with best colleges in the world and help Sri Ram College to produce high quality human resource for India and global workplace. 

Seminar held at KIMT

The Khalsa Institute of Management & Technology for Women, Ludhiana, organised a seminar on “Changing Social Values” on Tuesday. Several events were organised, including a one-minute speech, slogan writing, poem recitation, on the topic. Harpreet Kaur, Director KIMT, congratulated the winners for their active participation and thanked the guests for joining the event.

Workshop on psychology at Khalsa College

The Counseling Cell of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, in association with the Department of Psychology, organised a five-day workshop on “Discovering the real you and achieving your fullest potential”. It included various modules which accessed psychological dimensions such as personality, anxiety, depression, IQ, motivation and aggression. Students from various streams of the college were assessed on these dimensions and their scores were interpreted by volunteers from the Department of Psychology. They were further apprised of various strategies to help and achieve their full potential.

Moral education exam conducted

A moral education examination was conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle at the Government College for Girls, Ludhiana. Chief guest S Jaspal Singh, zonal secretary, Guru Gobind Study Circle, encouraged students to inculcate moral values in them. — TNS
