Activists of the Shiv Sena Hindustan organised a protest against Sikh hardliners, including Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann and Sikh activist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, here on Sunday.

Dozens of Shiv Sena Hindustan activists gathered near Rikhi Cinema and burnt the effigies of Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, who played an important role in the Sikh referendum 2020, and SAD (A) chief Simranjit Singh Mann.

The activists, led by state veopar cell president Chanderkant Chaddha, raised slogans against the Sikh terrorist organizations, including Babbar Khalsa International and Khalistan Liberation Force, during the protest. Addressing the party activists, Chanderkant Chaddha said several Hindu leaders have been killed during the past two years in Punjab.

“Some Sikh terrorist outfits, with the help of Pakistan-based spy agency ISI, have been trying to disturb the peace and harmony of Punjab by inciting youths. But we will not allow anyone to destroy the peaceful environment of the state,” said Chanderkant Chaddha. He also asked the state government and the police to check spreading of extremism through the social networking sites and Internet and take strict action against those involved in such practice.
