Six more test positive for dengue, 7 for chikungunya

LUDHIANA: Six positive cases of dengue and seven positive cases of chikungunya were reported at various hospitals in the city today. With this, the total number of positive dengue cases from the city has reached 237.

Six positive cases of dengue and seven positive cases of chikungunya were reported at various hospitals in the city today. With this, the total number of positive dengue cases from the city has reached 237.

Meanwhile, seven more tested positive for chikungunya and the count of positive patients from Ludhiana has reached 15.

The Health Department has issued instructions to all private laboratories and hospitals not to charge more than Rs 600 for conducting the test for dengue and chikungunya, while the tests are done for free at the Civil Hospital.

District Epidemiologist Dr Ramesh said people should keep their surroundings clean to keep mosquito-borne diseases away.
