Social activists celebrate World Sparrow Day

AHMEDGARH: To maintain the balance in ecosystem, environmentalists of the area celebrated World Sparrow Day at various places at local town and surrounding localities.

Ahmedgarh, March 20

To maintain the balance in ecosystem, environmentalists of the area celebrated World Sparrow Day at various places at local town and surrounding localities.

Social activists distributed earthen pots for water and feed for birds at various places in the region.

President, Samay Sewa Society, Vicky Sharma, vowed to contribute in saving environment by providing food and shelter to house sparrows and common birds at their respective places.

An oath was taken during the main function held at Shaheed Bhagat Chowk here on Tuesday. Speakers including Sharma, president city Congress Vikas Tandon and former president Municipal Council Ravinder Puri stressed on need of protecting sparrows and other small birds for conservation of environment.

Green Welfare Club and the Munday Ahmedgarh led by Jyoti Singh and Rakesh Garg celebrated similar functions in town, with special focus on feed and shelter for birds.
