LUDHIANA: Hosts Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Model Town, faced a little resistance from Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, before romping home victorious in the 11th Senior Ludhiana District Baseball Championship that concluded today.

Ludhiana, October 8

Hosts Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Model Town, faced a little resistance from Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, before romping home victorious in the 11th Senior Ludhiana District Baseball Championship that concluded today.

The final turned out to be a one-sided affair, in which the hosts recorded a convincing victory (12-4).

Prabhjot Kaur, Urvashi and Arshdeep were the architects of their team’s win, chipping in with two scores each.

Earlier, in the semi-finals, Guru Nanak Khalsa College drubbed Khalsa Baseball Club (10-2) with the main contributions coming through Prabhjot and Arshdeep, who secured a brace each while Khalsa College for Women outnumbered Ramgarhia Girls College, Miller Ganj (8-2), in which Rajiwinder Kaur and Parminder Kaur accounted for two scores each.

In the match for the hard-line cup, Ramgarhia Girls College outplayed Khalsa Baseball Club (4-1) to secure the third position.

Rajvir Kaur, physical education lecturer of the host college, gave away prizes to the winners. The office-bearers of the Ludhiana District Baseball Association including Sukhdev Singh Aulakh, Harbir Singh Gill, Jatinder Thakur, Rajinder Singh and Narinder Singh were among others present at the prize distribution function.
