Ludhiana, March 27
Sat Guru Ram Singh Government Polytechnic College, Rishi Nagar, recorded victories in kho-kho and badminton on the opening day of the games for Punjab State Inter-Polytechnic Colleges for Women organised at different places across the state today.
Matches for kho-kho and badminton are being held in the college and the host began its campaign on a positive note.
In kho-kho, Patiala beat Katani Kalan, while Ludhiana outplayed Muktsar and later Ludhiana defeated Patiala. In badminton, Ludhiana outplayed Government Polytechnic Collge, Khunimajra, and Ramgarhia Polytechnic College, Phagwara, outclassed the TCET, Chandigarh.
Earlier, college Principal Mohinderpal Singh declared the games open. He asked the students to take an active part in sports which inculcated habits such as hard work, discipline, dedication and sportsmanship.
