Ludhiana, July 11

Three STF personnel suffered injuries when they were attacked by youths on Wednesday. An attempt-to-murder case was slapped on the assailants.

Head Constable Makhan Singh was passing Samrala Chowk on his bike when he noticed some youths who seemed to be doing drugs. He immediately called other STF personnel and cornered the youths.

“When we tried to search the youths, they attacked us. They also hurled stones at us. ASI Sukhdev Singh, Constable Manvir Singh and Constable Davinder Pal were injured in the attack,” he said.

A case of attempt-to-murder was registered against the youths, identified as Kulwinder Singh, Sawan Singh, Paramjit Singh, Dalbir Singh and Gurpreet Singh. They have absconded, said Moti Nagar police officials.

Meanwhile, Kulwinder Singh, aide of the suspects, termed the allegation as false and baseless. He said the STF personnel thrashed them and threatened to implicate them in false drug case.
