Most of the students found the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class XII maths exam easy.
Commerce and science stream students said the questions came mainly from the NCERT book. Simran, a commerce student said, “Everything came from the NCERT book. I now feel that the coaching was a waste. I had studied a lot beside textbooks. Maths exam was way easier than accountancy paper.”
Tanya, a student from science stream said, “The paper was quite easy. Maths exam used to be quite tricky, however, this year questions were straightforward.”
Students appearing for the Punjab State Education Board (PSEB) examinations were left disgruntled over extremely difficult Chemistry and Mathematics exams.
Class XII students will be appearing for Informatics Practices exam on March 23 followed by Biology exam on March 27. Class X students have their Social Science exam on Thursday.
NCERT-based paper: Experts
Tejinder Kaur, a maths lecturer said, “Students who hadpractised from the NCERT book would have found the paper quite easy and must have attempted it well on time. Some statement based questions were straight from the NCERT books with minor tweak in figures and equations. It was a scoring exam overall.” She said confidence level of Class XIIstudents should be high as maths exam would play pivotal role in increasing their overall percentage in examinations.
